Hi All,

Just a quick question - which would give the most gains (smoother engine/ more power):

1) A De-cat (Miltek de-cat pipe)

2) A Cat-back (Miltek cat-back and rear silencer)

Cheers.

Neither really, i'd go for a cat back though as sounds nice :)

Think I read de-cat creates back pressure on turbo which is bad?

De-Cat

That is all.

lol :)

a de-cat reduces back pressure and should allow the turbo to spool sooner and also reduce EGTs. the flip-side is that it could might, possibly, in theory allow the turbo to overspool and damage it. whether it's been proven that someone has had a turbo fail as a direct result of removing the cat...?

Thanks for that

Thought i'd heard something like that!

If its improved sound you're after,

Don't bother with the Blueflame....

TBH it suits me perfectly, but I wasn't after a change in tone/note.

I can only really tell its on there if the rear of the car is backed into a tight spot

and surrounded by structures. ( Backed onto my garage for example.)

Then the lower note is clear.

Otherwise un-noticeable except for slightly louder turbo whistle when driving briskly. ;)

I thought the jetex only had the one silencer though... Maybe that's why it has a reputation

for improved sound... .

lad i know has a mapped fabia vrs, standard turbo standard intercooler!!

was going fine until he fitted a decat and straight through!

now he gets one run then it goes into limp mode, im guessing the ecu is sensing an overboost :o

next im thinking BANG!!
