Sunroof problem after key coding

Featured Replies

Hi Please can some one help, I have just ordered a third key and have had it programmed through my local skoda dealer, all seemed well untill on the way home i tried to open the sunroof, all that happens it that it will only tilt up then come straight back down also when i try to slide it back it tries to tilt up again, i get the feeling that when i go back they will say its not related, but i am sure it was working fine before the key programming, i have tried removing the main battery to 'reset' but to no avail any help welcome, before the showdown in the dealers tomorrow !

I can't see how coding a key will produce a problem with the sunroof. To code a key to the immobiliser you go through either the dash panel 17 (Octavia MK1) or the immobiliser 25 (Octavia MK2), the only possible link is when the remote controls are adapted through the convenience system 46 and you don't go into any adaption channels that have anything to do with the sunroof.

In my opinion the key coding is not related to the sunroof operation.

Hi Good news went back to dealer who ,as predicted said nothing to do with the key programming, however i had discovered that the sunroof switch was working 180 deg out of phase , so suggested it must need to be 'married up'. I had tried to reset sunroof by pushing sunroof switch in for 10 seconds but no good, the dealer suggested that it was jamminng and needed to be stripped to investigate. and i should rebook car in for further tests, i was still adament that it had only happened since key programming, i managed to convince service manager that couldnt be jamming as roof would tilt ok if switch in wrong position, they had another look and eventually by manually opening slide roof then re connecting switch and repowering it all sorted it's self out, strange as i thought the reset method described in manual would have cured this (holding switch in for 10 secounds). any way good result !

maybe helpfull to others ?

Useful feedback for anyone with a similar problem. Thank you. :)
