Fitting a CD player to standard Skoda Felicia.

Featured Replies

Sounds daft, but how do I fit a CD player to my Felicia. :wonder:

I had the old unit out and will need an ISO adaptor. If I do that though, there is no room for the adaptor and the player as the slot is not deep enough and the wiring will prevent the player sitting flush.

Confused, the slot is plenty deep enough; even my idiot son managed to fit a CD player in his felly.

The back of my radio has the wiring plug on it. The bottom of the slot has the corresponding connector. No wires, just straight in. If I add an adaptor loom to the back of the CDplayer, the wires will bunch up and stop the unit fitting flush. There are no gaps or holes where I could route the wires. It as if the Skoda unit is shorter, but I have not compared them. Maybe I should in case i am having a blond moment. :)

the cage that holds the standard factory radio needs to come out too, you can detach the wiring harness from the back of it but you might need to stick your hand up behind the central console to do it depending ow tight it is

I see, that might work. I'll have a look later on. Ta.

I never had any problems with fitting stereos on Favorit's or Felicia's, in fact they were a dream and I could do it in about 5 minutes - if not less! The Octavia on the other hand....

If you haven't already, take the cage out. Also you should be able to tuck some wires into some space to the left, there's a circular opening, this leads to the glovebox, and you can see it when you take the plastic piece out.

Thanks, I'll have a look tomorrow.

It's gonna need new speakers too. They sound blown but look OK.

bwahahaha....

Believe me, it's not that difficult...

took me about 40 minutes to take out the standard tape player, and put in my Jvc Mp3 cd player...

however, hiding the cables was a different story, since i have an amplifier in the trunk, and all kinds of stuff to hide...

that's where ducktape comes in handy, just do a good few circles around the cables, and do a little skidding just behind the ashtray, and you're good...
