Rear parking sensor problem

Featured Replies

The rear parking sensor on my 07 Scout started playing up today, when I select reverse it beeps constantly when Im nowhere anything, Iv checked the sensors and they are clean, anyone else had this problem?

I've had this happen once or twice when the car has been left in the sun - I assume it's caused by convention currents around the car causing a false return to the sensor - any chance this has happened? If so it will self right.

Only had my Octy for approx 2 months and never had a problem with the parking sensors until Tuesday when I just so happened to be parking up at my local dealers. Constant beeping when reverse selected. Sorted itself by re-engaging reverse. Got the dealers to check whilst there and no error codes logged from parking sensors, so I guess it's just one of those things. Had a mate with an A4 who had constant beeping from his and it turned out to be one of the sensors needing replaced. You might need to take it to your local dealer to get it checked out if it's constant beeping even after re-engaging reverse.

Mine has done exaclty the same thing but reset itself.

It could be a common problem

There appears to be no fix apart from a new sensor, but mine has been faultless since

Mine does this quite alot - but the dealer can't replicate the problem. I usually find that shifting back to neutral and re-selecting reverse sorts it out.
