TDI boost problem

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm trying to help solve a boost issue on my dads car, he bought it broke!! It's a 2003 1.9 TDI 110bhp Octy. According to the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor the turbo isn't generating any boost (VCDS). But when you drive the car, the turbo blows the bottom hose off (between the turbo and the intercooler input side)!! Is there away to check the MAP sensor ? I'm assuming at this point this is the only boost sensor ?? I'm thinking of swapping it out with another.......

Thanks Baz.

"when you drive the car, the turbo blows the bottom hose off ", at which point you have no boost...

I had a similar problem with one of the pipes on mine, and replaced the stock spring clips with proper Terry Jubilee clips.

The MAP sensor was only indicating atmospheric pressure prior to blowing the bottom hose off. I did look at fitting another clip, but it’s a strange joint....a jubliee clip cannot be used.

Baz.
