Who's Black Magic VRS?

Featured Replies

Bought a Black Magic VRS today, from Stratford, I noticed it had a peeled off Briskoda sticker in the rear screen - anyone own up to having this car?

Previous own was apparently in Knowle, so only 4mi away from me!

I'm sure you bought a good 'un, after all it's a Black one.

When I have bought cars in the past from dealers, I would get the previous owners name and address from the log book and go and see them before I made up my mind whether to buy the car or not. You could go round to see the previous owner and find out if there are any issues withe car, nothing to loose.

Never thought about that before, thats actually not a bad shout. Even if it sjust to see the kind of area they live in and how there house and other cars look to see if they take care and pride in there possessions. At the same time though i'd feel really stalkerish lol!

I never felt like a Stalker, it is not like you're delving into personal and private info. The name's and address's in the log book are public information just as if your name and address is on the electoral register or telephone directory, have a look on 192.com, it is frightening what you can find out about people on there.

I must admit I have met some abusive previous owners, which I just made a hasty retreat and didn't buy the car and some really nice people who furnished some useful info on the prospective purchase. The good thing is I've never bought a "pup" or "lemon" in 40 years. One exception was a NEW car from a main dealer.

Unfortunately silver is the fastest colour but a black one will still be quite fast :giggle::thumbup:

Well done on taking the plunge for a vRS. You won't regret it - nobody ever does!

Just picked the car up today and I love it! Makes me think how much was actually worn out on my old Elegance!

It shifts it so much more than the PD100 too... I just need to get used to the shorter gears now!

One issue with it which I find a bit strange - the exhaust light on the dash comes on when I come to switch the engine on after 5mins of stopping. This is stopping it turning over and the engine starting. It works fine from cold.... any ideas anyone?

Exhaust light? What does that look like?

But congrats on the vRS.....just a shame its not silver :giggle:

That shape on the speedo. It doesn't turn off either until the engine is going, the manual says exhaust warning light and something about taking it to a dealer.
