Fabia labia - I've got the decorators in

Featured Replies

I finally got round to ordering up the replacement outer door seals for the furby; the originals came lose and the replacements - done under warranty - were fitted so badly that they have started to sag too.

Deciding that if a job's worth doing, I better do it myself I merrily ripped off the ones that were on and spend a happy hour with the meths cleaning any remaining adhesive off of the body. I then attached the new seals - in the right place this time - starting from the front and working towards the back.

I then started wondering how I was going to ensure that the seal was seated along its full length, so no dirt could get in and start the falling off process again. Bit of head scratching then realised that I had a DIY wallpapering set in the shed, including a small hand-held roller, originally inteded for ensuring self-adhesive wallpaper borders were well seated. Half a dozen rolls along the full length and the seals are perfectly seated.

Cost me about £37 all in, but at least I know when this brief heatwave is over, the furby will be nice and watertight :)
