The Fuel Beep..

Featured Replies

Hello,

quick question really, does anything else beep like the low fuel indicator? the reason I asked it because I had the light on today, after 20mins driving I took a 1st exit left on the roundabout, and it beeped again.. thought it was a little strange.. but maybe because there was a high speed right hander before which might've tipped the light off again without me noticing before.

I was also driving enthusiastically therefore I thought there could be a small chance the car complaining about something :giggle: Good news is im starting to understand the power a bit better , brakes does NOT inspire confidence :dull: ...

The bulb out and low washer fluid beep the same as low fuel, but they also have their own warning lamps on the dash so if you didn't get any more lamps lit up it was probably just your fuel sloshing about :giggle:

"brakes DO not inspire confidence"

A similar beep if not the same beep comes on when the outside temp. reaches 4 degrees, not sure about any other similar beeps though

Could you have low brake fluid? Since it beeps whilst cornering.

A similar beep comes on when the outside temp. reaches 4 degrees,

I'll wager a months salary that it wasn't that one. Certainly not todayemoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Thanks for the reply guys, low brake fluid could be a possibility. I had advisory of pitted discs during the mot before the car I bought the car.. maybe they havent changed the brake fluid.. On the other hand.. they replaced the rear disc and pads.. so I assume they've done it.

If you had low brake fluid the red brake warning light would (or should) have come on.

Changing discs and pads doesn't mean the fluid would have been changed anyway. Brake fluid should be changed every two years as part of the regular servicing. Brake discs and pads are wear and tear iems and get changed when they need it.

I had the servicing etc done before I got the car, so I assume everything is fine. Would be changing front disc and pads sometime in the next couple of months though as I'll have more time then. undecided with the 312mm conversion yet.... :D

All the low something or other warnings give a beep, on fast cornering the most likely is low oil, not necessary low but sloshing around in the sump and fooling the ecu that you have low oil.

It's prob because your mpg changed dramatically, ie went from motorway driving to town driving. The waning seems to trigger from the range remaining, so you can actually make it go up by driving carefully. So basically you may have passed the fuel warning threshold driving hard, then made the range go back up again by driving smoothly then passed the threshold again. I've done that a couple of times.
