O/S Rear window gets stuck on it's own seal

Featured Replies

Noticed this problem this morning.

I hardly ever use the rear windows to be honest as my 6 month old daughter is normally in the back in the car seat and if it gets too warm we use the A/C - hence no-one really uses them or fiddles with them.

Anyway, with all the recent weather I decided to open all the windows (key fob full opening job) to let some air in. All was well until I came to close them again and all the windows closed properly except the O/S rear, which seemed to get stuck half way up. I looked closer and it appeared to have kind of come out of its guide slightly and gone over the seal that separates the main window from the quarterlight as opposed to under it, thus jamming it up. In the end I had to wind it al the way back down again and push it slightly towards the inside of the car whilst slowly closing the window so it stayed on track without jamming up again.

Upon closer inspection it seems that the window is fine unless I open it all the way right to the point where it stops itself and then close it again which is where is comes out of track and messes up the seal. Stop just short of fully open and it closes fine on its own.

It looks like this when it gets jammed:

It's booked in on Tuesday to have it looked at, and to have my 4WA redone as the steering wheel is now off centre. :(

All under warranty though - the bonus about owning a nearly new car.

Anyone else had this? A search brought up one mention of rear windows coming "off track" but that's it.

No-one? Ok I'll see what the dealer makes of it and post the outcome.
