Worried: Yeti windows had opened automatically when returned to locked vehicle

Featured Replies

Had a very strange and worrying experience tonight; when I returned to my Yeti after visiting friends we found all 4 windows were open by about 3 inches. I know they were closed when we left the vehicle as it had just come out of a car wash.

The car was locked when I left it, and part way through the eve I returned to it to get something out the boot. I opened the boot with the middle button of the fob and may have pressed the lock button after closing the tailgate (although I know it locks itself). Other than that the car was performing normally and this has not occurred before.

So is it a feature or a bug? Should it happen and if so why/ how?

Its a little worrying when you are parked on a side street in a housing estate to find your yeti vulnerable to attack like this.

Any ideas?

Thanks

yeah, sounds feasible, apart from the keys were sat on the kitchen worktop all evening....

Had exactly the same thing happen with my Octavia a few weeks back. Nothing to do with sitting on the fob. There was a similar issue with my Audi S3 but I have never got to the bottom of the problem. Contacted the dealer who as usual was clueless. Talked to Skoda and they thought there may be a problem with a regulator or the wiring loom. They have asked me to wait for it to happen again and then take it to the dealer. Watch this space.

Same problem with my Octavia, happened a couple of years ago when car was covered in snow. I took it to dealer ....who couldn't find problem....however it hasn't happened since!

I had a similar experiance with my old Golf. I never could seem to master the 'double press' that is needed to open the boot - and I think, in my case, it was pressing the opening button for too long that did it. If caused by a fault ithat is a big concern, and it will be great to follow up on what happens - good luck with it..

The cat sat on 'em! :D

Isn't he supposed to sit on the mat???

Having read previous threads about windows opening overnight etc I switched the auto opening/closing feature off. So far so good.

Concur with this, dealer removed auto opening with key fob, when my windows developed a mind of their own,This function still is opertive on mine if you turn key in door lock, Dealer said you probally sat on keys , as the problem was only affecting O/S window over night , as i dont sleep with my keys plus it was only affecting one window this could not have been the cause, seems ok now .
