Engine cooling fans

My engine cooling fans on my car have appeared to have stopped working, has this happened to anyone else on here and does anyone have any suggestions to what may be the problem.

I think you will have to give out a bit more info !

What makes you think they are not working?

how long do you drive before you discover they are not on?

what temp does the gauge get to?

what tests have you done up to now your self ?

Radiotwo

If your car is a couple of years old this is what I have heard to be common VW group issue with twin fans if you do a search on seat leon cupra forums there is loads of stuff on there about it its something to do with resistors I believe

Apologies, i was driving in near stationay traffic for two hours last night and I could not hear nor see the radiator fans working when I checked. The car has two fans one large and one small.

I wouldn't worry about it unless your Temp starts going up. The fan will only work if it needs it. I often don't hear mine come on unless i've been on the M'Way

Im not too far from you in Folkestone if you want me to scan with VCDS to ensure no faults.

Or take it for a "brisk" drive and then see if you hear it come on

Thank you for your kind offer Carl, i have tried taking it for a "brisk" drive and still nothing from the fans. Luckily the temp gauge sits at 90 but Im going to drop it into an independant on Monday to have a look as the last thing I need is a cooked lump.

Many thanks

mike
