octy cd multi changer problems

Featured Replies

The cd multi changer in my vRS Octy (march '03) seems to be playing up, i think the lazer is sticking on it's runner. The cd's are clean and play on everything else, the problem is also intermittent. Sometimes it will just cut out in a track, then cut back in again. It seems worse when cold in the morning.

Anyone else experienced this problem.

Think I better go to dealer under warranty.

Any suggestions for replacement stereo systems that will fit without butchering the car?

While it's there, the leccy mirror switch is playing up, when you adjust the right mirror the left moves aswell. I hate electric problems as they can lead to other electric problems in my experience.

Not a problem, its a feature, it should do that. Have a look in the handbook if in any doubt. If you watch the mirror if you move the drivers mirror inwards it also moves the passenger one inwards aswell. its designed to do this so if you missus gets int he car and is shorted for example she can set the mirrors together rather than individually.

So set them intially you need to set the right first then the left.

Silly me! :ashamed: I should never have doubted the skoda technology. Still need a new cd changer though. :rock_band

Well the standard changer should still be under warranty so your dealer can just swap it out.

If you are otherwise happy with the sound there isn't much point in changing it for a better unit when you can get it fixed for free

Did someone mention their CD changer was playing up? :D

If you have no joy with the warranty I've still got a changer sitting here doing nothing.
