FABIA petrol filer cover

Featured Replies

FABIA 1.4 16v circa 2006

i can`t get the filler cap cover to lock again.

I went to the petrol station, unlocked the flap from inside the car, and when i tried to lock it, it wouldn`t.

A convenient Skoda dealership said the centrol locking pin, that should "click" the cover into place, was in operative but could do no more as Work shop closed on Sundays

It's happened to a few people on here mate, it ain't as technical as problems with the central locking so don't worry and don't pay a dealer to fix it - the problem takes about 2 minutes to sort out yourself: Pull the carpet back inside the boot above where the fuel filler flap is. You should see a black cable with a plastic end piece which has become dislodged - give it a firm push back into the hole (if you look at the open fuel flap you should see the plastic end piece poke back through). This should sort it out.

All sorted - cable took some finding it had poped out & hid itself neatly against the corner seams but I found it !!
