Wanted to come on and say hi. I will be collecting my 2010 59 plate Octavia VRS Diesel on Friday and can't wait. I have been driving a Saab 9-3 1.9 TID (150BHP) for the last 2 years. Its been a solid and reliable if unspectacular car. I average around 18k miles a year so a diesel makes perfect sense. When I started hunting around I went to all the usual suspects (Audi, BMW and Saab) but never found anything either in my price range or that really appealed and via a recommendation from a colleague (he drives an Octavia VRS petrol) he suggested I test drove the Octavia and I've not looked back. I've bought the dealers test car (9k miles on the clock) mainly because A) It's a brilliant car, drove lovely, looks great (Electric Blue) I got a good price for it and C) 14 weeks plus was a long time to wait for a car to be delivered.

Anyway I will post in the forum more about my initial thoughts on the car once I pick it up Friday.
