Anyone want some underlay/soundproofing for the rear bench area

Featured Replies

I have two pieces of cloud 9, 9mm PU foam underlay after I added some to my boot floor and rear bench area.

Each of the two pieces are the full width of the under rear bench area, with one slightly larger than the other, but my guess is that each one would be suitable to provide some sound proofing in that area.

I already had some dynamat xtreme down, so a layer of this seems to have nicely cut down on the higher frequency noise that was left.

Not silent, but a noticeable improvement over the dynamat alone especially on the motorway.

So anyone who can meet me somewhere or collect from the Southampton or Portsmouth areas can have one of these pieces for a bottle of real ale.

Hi there, do you reckon there would be enough to cover the boot floor of an estate, or is it just sufficient for the back seat ? I'm in Whiteley, so would be very interested in taking this off your hands if it might do a good job in my boot ! Cheers, Jon

It wouldn't do the boot floor, but would do under the seat.

I guess it would be enough to do the sides and possibly base of the spare wheel well.

For the boot floor area, I cut a large sheet of underlay to fit the boot area and placed this under the existing carpet.

OK thanks, I'll pass and let someone else take it. Cheers and have a good Bank Holiday weekend.

Fair enough, I could probably get an off cut that would do the whole boot floor for not much if you want me to ask.
