Mines a 56 plate petrol VRS but I've had this problem twice, both times when the petrol tank is quite low and on both occasions the light (emmisions light, i think) went out the next day before I had a chance to get it back into the dealers.

I have had this a few times on my VRS and was related to the throttle requiring a reset. foot to the floor, switch on ignition, wait 30 secs, ignition off and release.
