Can anyone recommend a good independent VAG garage in the Wellingborough, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Bedford area.

Has to VAT registered as I have an extended Skoda warentee so I cant use Alistair, Unit 18, even though he is only 1 mile from where I live.

I am coming up to my 4 year service so need the lot inc Cambelt and DSG oil change, Brake Fluid etc.

Local VW dealer is quoting £860 for eveything inc a regas of the AC

Can't vouch for them as I've never used them but these people are independent VW/Skoda/SEAT specialists in Milton Keynes. Considering using them for my wife's SEATs next service. They get good reviews on other VAG brand forums.

What has VAT registration got to do with the Skoda warranty, out of curiousity?

My understanding is that its a legal thing about the Block Exemption rules saying that where a warentee requires servicing to manufacturers standards it can not be voided so long as a VAT registered garage does the servicing using OEM parts even if they are not a manufacturer dealer garage.

aha ok - Not knowing what Ali turns over, but the VAT registration threshold is £70,000 per annum so anyone with turnover in excess of that should be VAT registered anyway. Would be surprised if any general garage would have turnover under £70k unless a one-man band.
