What sort of brake fluid do I need to buy?

Is it just DOT4? or Super DOT4 or what?!

So what's the average drive stuff called? Is it DOT4? Gonna go buy some now...

DOT 4. is the normal stuff and the best dot 4 is Castrol Response.

Put DOT 5.1 in it.

Almost no difference in price to the DOT 4 fluid - fully compatible and mixable but better properties.

ABS equipped cars are hard on the fluid when the ABS kicks in.

DOT4 @ just under a fiver for 1 LITRE is what I use for brake fluid change on my 2005 Fabia VRS. (Skoda recommendation)

Get a friend, do it yourself save yourself at least £30.00 labour charge.

Remember DO NOT buy DOT 5 fluid.

Get some DOT 4 or DOT 5.1. There are some DOT 4 stuff which are better (higher boiling point) than DOT 5.1 fluids. Look for their WET boiling points, when comparing. There is a difference between wet and dry boiling points.
