Tyres for 2002 Octy 1.8T 4x4 Estate

Featured Replies

Following a service and MoT today I need to replace two rear tyres but prefer to replace all of them at the same time.

I have an Octavia 1.8T 4x4 estate and the last tyres I put on in April 2007 were Toyo Proxes T1-R 205/55 ZR1691W with rim protection.

Not being an expert on tyres is there any advice you can give me. The plan is to sell soon (mileage approx 58k).

If you going to sell it soon i'd just get 2 for the back, other wise you'll be paying double for tyres you don't really need.

Thanks for that Raf. I have ordered two tyres for fitting tomorrow. The fronts were checked over again and they are good for a while yet.

I think a wheel alignment might be a good idea while I am at it.

Having checked the mileage, she is coming up for 54K miles. I like this car so much I will be buying another, though not new. Any clues as to what I might expect as a part-ex against a 2007 T 4x4?

Raf's advice seems to make sense, but if the other 2 are wellish worn, I'd promptly ask you to chip your price because the car needed 2 new tyres.

No - the two front are good. Having said that everyone wants what they are buying for a little bit less, that's why we all start off asking for a little bit more. :)
