Where's the MAP sensor located?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Got some problems with loss of power (turning off seems to reset). Have been told that the MAP is causing the problem as had it on daignostics and it wasn't showng readings as engine was revved. Could this really be the problem or am i looking at 'sticky vanes syndrome'?

Thanks

Nick

MAP sensor is attached to the intercooler on the 1.8T, I will have a quick look on etka for the tdi :D

looks like its in the pipework on the TDI

Would that not be the MAF (mass air flow)!

With what you have described, unplug the MAF sensor and see how it runs!

The MAF is located right next to the airbox normally, on the left hand side!

Thanks for the replies.

Been told that the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor is on left near light cluster (as looking at the car from the front). I think the MAF (Air Sensor) is ok as the symtoms I described sound similar to the vanes sticking. I did pull off a fault code which was:

P0243 - Turbocharger wastegate regulating valve A circuit malfunction. Am hoping it's not actually the trubo but some other electrical fault.

Any ideas?

That sounds like a faulty N75 (PWM valve) to me. It regulates the pressure supplied to the wastagate actuator.

I'm tempted to change the N75 and see. Will post when I have and let you know.

Many thanks
