Which alarm system?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of putting a genuine Skoda alarm system into my brand new FL Elegance hatch.

I saw in the accessories catalog couple of them and don't know do I need a basic kit BKA 600 004 or BKA 700 001 or both?!

I hope it can be easily installed, maybe DIY?

Any help or advice is welcome. Thanks!

Cheers,

d.

as far as im aware the fl elegance should have a Skoda alarm system??

Hmmm...how do I know if it's installed or not?

Maybe it is a standard piece of equipment that comes w/ elegance package on your market, but I truly doubt it comes on the one where my car is bought.

Look for a button on the door pillar by the drivers door, that disables the interior sensors on the alarm. it won't be there if you don't have the alarm system.

I would have thought that Elegance would come with an alarm in most markets though, it's not like it's the basic model is it. Doesn't it mention it in the brochure? The alarm is standard on SE and above in the UK (according to the UK brochure anyway)

If it doesn't have one already, Clifford do a very nice CANBUS jobbie which you should see fitted for around £250

get in your car, lock the doors using the remote, wait about a minute, then get out, the alarm will sound if you have one, remember to wait a minute or longer as the alarm setting time is usually around this

If you are going to try that method, lock the car by pressing the lock button on the remote twice. Pressing it once puts the deadlocks on so you won't be able to open the door...
