A colleague presently driving a hand me down Golf 5dr hatchback 1.9SDi, the normally aspirated snail of an engine has recently been persauded to choose an Octy hatchback as his next car.

When the leasing list was issued two months ago it contained A3's, a 116d, Golf 1.6TDi SE and lots of Peugeots and Skodas. Unfortunately, when my colleague recently came to make his decision he found the list had been thinned out leaving only the Golf, every flavbour of Skoda and lots of undesirable Pugs.

He was going to go for a Golf 1,6TDi Bluemotion, when I suggested he consider an Octy 5 door hatchback in Elegance spec with the new 2.0TDi CR engine. He was impressed when he went to look at the Octy and without even taking a test drive has decided to go for an Storm Blue Octy Elegance with the following optional extras:-

Full size spare wheel

Remote radio/CD steering wheel with Maxidot

ESP

I'm not sure how long he'll have to wait, however, I'm sure it'll be worth it.

So, out of the seven company car drivers at our office, four of us will be driving Skodas. Not a bad result!
