Battery went flat, now the alarm won't shut up

Featured Replies

Will you guys mind too much if I ask you a quick question about a Seat Leon?

The thing has been parked up for six months and the battery is flatter than a pancake.

I jumped it off the old Occy, and the alarm went off. Engine on, engine off, locked, unlocked, buttons on the key fob pressed, the alarm doesn't shut up until I kill the engine and wait for the battery to drain out again.

Anyone got any ideas where I'm going wrong?

The backup battery inside the alarm unit may well be goosed now as well. A code scan will tell you if it's shot (Needs to be a full scan and not done with a simple hand held scanner.) IIRC the alarm module needs to be replaced as it's a sealed unit.
