ARB Bushes

Featured Replies

I have noticed a clunking sound coming from this general area when on bumpy roads. It is most prominent when decelerating and I believe it is one of the ARB bushes. I have just changed the front disks, pads and re-bled the brakes and whilst I was down there briefly inspected the three bushes on either side. None of them look particularly bad so I was hoping someone could advise me whether it is likely to be something else or the bushes can be shot without looking to bad? There is no obvious play in the linkages but I did not inspect them that thoroughly. The car was jacked so the suspension was unloaded so obvious play should have been apparent.

Thanks

Anthony

As has been covered, many times before,it is usually the plastic sleeve on the arb which breaks, causing the noise. The part No,s for the two different sizes of bush are in the handy part number bit at the top of this octy section. My plastic sleeves had disintigrated,so I fitted the smaller 17mm bushes a couple of weeks ago.

P.S. there is only 2 bushes not 3.

As Ken says there are only two bushes on the ARB, but if your looking at three, your probably looking at the wishbones?
