mark II Greenline

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if this 1.4 Mark II version of the Fabia is a totally different chassis and seat pedal position to the Mark 1? I have a bad back and am trying to find a car that works as well as my old y reg did?

Thanks

The chassis is carried over all be it modified. The driving position is higher in the new car but think the pedals should be in a similar position the only thing is the cabin is slightly narrower.

Don't suppose you happen to live in or near East London? I have an (59) plate Greenline as a driving school car, you would be welcome to try.

Fab...I think you will find the Mk2 is marginally wider if you check the spec, but it's just a tad!

if you look in the brochure the mark 2 is slightly narrower than the mark 1 but is taller

Thought the new one was a bit narrower. Interestingly the face lift is actually 8mm longer at 4000mm in total now and there is a similar increase in the wheel base, wonder if they have taken all the front section of the new polo in order to fit the new engines as the front bumper is almost certainly the same and the bonnet looks to extend a bit further.

interesting to see that the fl has slighjtly longer wheelbase, i wonder how it handles.

I know the pre fl has the same wheel base as the mark 1 albeit mine has 10mm wider track front and rear, it feels the same though

I wonder if it feels any different to drive as well, wonder if it has revised front suspension looking at some of the under bonnet pictures on the FL it appears that the tops of the suspension struts are slightly different.

They have changed the whole front section of the car to accomodate the new engines, which would explain the extra length in wheelbase.

The wheel base is actually shorter according to the new brochure but overall lenght is now slightly longer, rear overhang shorter, front overhang longer. front track is narrower too, rear track is the same. I doubt these small differencec make much difference to the handling.

If the Greenline uses -15mm springs they could be the same as VRS mark 1 springs maybe?
