Did my dealer use the correct oil?

Featured Replies

I have an 09 2.0 pd octy estate, i've just got it back after a service, the first variable service. The oil used seems to be non variable oil according to the stamp(suspect that is incorrect), and mobil esp variable on the invoice at 5 * 13.90. I asked and they said it was mobil esp 5w-30. How can I equate that to VW oil specs?

Is it the correct oil?

Thanks

mobil1 esp 5w-30 is a known VW504/VW507 oil.

If that is what they used, it's the correct oil for variable, or if your car has a DPF fixed or variable servicing.

You can get 5 Ltres Mobil#1"esp" 5W-30 longlife oil ( VAG specs 504 & 507 ) at ASDA for £32.
