Help!, pulling to right + slight steerwheel viration

Featured Replies

I have had wheels re-balanced and 3 tracking's done in past week but my superb is still pulling to the right with also a steering wheel judder side/to side between 30-45mph. Feels like a badly unbalanced wheel/tracking but this has been checked 3 times. Was suggested steer column could be causing problem?

p.s its an 04 model 160k miles 1.9td

Probably not related, but my car was suffering similair sort of thing (still is a bit) and its the crap tyre ive got on one of the wheels (Im running odd tyres) If I put the spare on it drives like dream.

Also completley different, but I used ot have a couple of MK2 Escorts couple years ago and I managed to knacker the ball joint on the track control arms which caused exactly the same sort of problem you are describing at around the same sort of speed. Not sure what you would check on the Supurb though as its a lot more complicated looking to me.

My Superb also pulls to the side with the crappy tyre on BTW, drives in a straight line with the spare on.

I have 4 gggod tyres and my mechanic can not see any obvious faults

I reckon that is a tyre, you're a cabby aren't you? that will mean you fit budget rubber, and these can come with warped carcasses, that or check your rims inside and out for kerb damage, and failing that, do the CVJ's clack at all?

btw, don't do the money having it resprayed, total waste of money, the car is just about worth the cost of the paint, and with that sort of mileage on it, it will become a money pit shortly, if you want it to look better, have it detailled.

Have you had the rear one balanced, sometimes this gives the impression the fronts are out
