Insurance HELP!

Featured Replies

hi all, my fabia vrs has been insured with swiftcover for 2years now, its due for renew on the 28th june 2010.

after my first year with swift cover i got letter saying they gave me 2years NCD for my first year,

so if i renew with swiftcover it says i got 3years NCD.

if i was to switch to a different insurance company, wud i have 2 years or 3years NCD? :S (confused)

It depends on whether your new ins. co. accepts Swifts proof of NCD. Most cos. will and try and beat the Swift renewal notice premium regardless of NCD.

IIRC you will have 3 years with Swift and 2 years with everyone else

You could try Brentachre, they were the cheapest when i was looking, but i'm 35 lol

Back with my first car (in the olden days, pre-internet, where you actually had to go into the office of the insurance broker!) I got an introductory year's no-claims bonus. I can't remember exactly why. So at the end of the first year the renewal showed 2 years NCD..

I switched insurance companies at the time, and the new one accepted the 2 years NCD, on condition that I brought the renewal notice into the office for them to check.

I did explain that I'd had the policy for only a year and that the extra year was a bonus from the previous insurer. It's well to be honest and explain the situation, they'll probably be happy with it.
