I keep getting directed here when looking for info on Skodas. I drive an 05 fabia vrs. Was finally prompted to join this site when I got flashing glow plug light, but its already been useful for my stereo swap and other planned mods. Seems like a very handy site and a healthy community

Yep, first thing I tried after looking it up on Google and being directed here, again. People were saying it's the switch and this could cause brake lights to not come on, or blow. I checked them and all 3 come on. Any ideas what it might be if it isn't the switch (Or might it be the switch but with no noticeable effect on the brakelights?)? I installed a new stereo yesterday but the problem didn't start until this afternoon and I've done several hundred miles since last night with no problems. Do you think it might be an idea to get the fault code read? And would you recommend having a mechanic do this, or just buy the cable myself?
