Parking bulb replacement in Xenon headlamp

Featured Replies

Hi, Maxidot (and the faulty bulb light on the dash) has reported that my right hand side front parking bulb has failed. Turning the side lights on has proved this. My question is, because my headlamps are Xenon, reading on here about the dangers of the system, is a side light replacement a DIY job or a garage job. Seems a bit over the top for a garage to change a bulb, but I thought I'd better check. Many thanks

No...Very easy. The unit just slides out

...after removing the white plastic nut and pulling the lever

Thanks Chris, so is there anything I need to be careful with as it is a xenon unit other than not having the ignition on when diconnecting and reconnecting ?

The multiplug on the back of the headlights can sometimes be stubborn, so be patient and don't break the plug.

Thanks Peter, I'll pop out and get a replacement bulb tomorrow and have a go at the weekend. It's typical really the cars got its first MOT week after next :wonder:

oh and have excessively long fingers to be able to get to the sidelight bulb
