FInally got around to scanning the car today, bought it 3 weeks back and have been dreading this as it has been modified to crap and could have all sorts wrong.

I was very surpirsed to have 1 fault code

17608 (P0343) - Boost pressure control valve (N249): Mechanical Malfunction

The car seems to drive fine, idle can be a little wobbly at times but nothing very bad, Just a judder now and then. It does have a manual boost controler fitted and I wondered if this fault could just be due to that.

Any ideas?

Not sure where you got that P-Code from but it doesn't fir the VAG DTC...
