Hot weather & Engine misfiring

Featured Replies

My car is superb v6 30v ,,,

Has anyone ever had this problem? It seems that if I drive for about an hour and a half in hot hot weather my car sputters out and then dies. I let it sit 15 minutes or so, then it is good to go for a few more miles anyways. Over night, it is good to go in the morning again.

I think it is the fuel pump heating up and overloading itself. Anyone else deal iwth this? It doesn't make sense to me as it is submerged in gasoline and it should stay at a pretty constant temp.

Help?!??!?!?!

I am realy very disappionting coz more than 60 members visited my topic no one of them was trying to help me .

anyhow ,,,actually there is no way to get vag.com nearby ,,,, first I was thinking that camshaft position sensor is the cause , Basiclly the problem started when going uphill after long trip , and in highway in hot weather the engine misfiring as something cut out all firing , speed coming down , RMP coming down and if I push the pedal no penifit then suddenly engine starting firing again , speed coming up , RMP coming up all these in seconds while driving , then starting to do that again ,,,,,,,,& if I try to stop the car and RMP coming under 10 then stall ,,,,,,, after keeping it off 15-20 min it came again to work normaly ,

I forgete to tell that there is a sound of bad pulley infront of engine that one only if a.c is on ,,,

thanks too much ,,,,,,faisal

It's not no one wants to help, it's that your car is a rare model due to fuel prices, so they won't know the answer, and won't be helping guessing, if you want some guesses that will cost you money and not cure anything, you could start with 3 things, MAF, Coolant temp sensor, fuel temp sensor, other than that you are going to need pro help with it, had it been a 1.9 then members may have had the same issues and been able to help, but a 2.8 V6 petrol engine is hens teeth round here mate, personally I'd bite the bullet and get Skoda or a capable Indy to diagnose it for you, if you are simply trying to save money, you won't, cars like that aren't made or bought for budget motoring, you buy one because at 15 mpg it normally means you aren't worried about what it costs, I hope you get it fixed up, but I deffo think you need pro help here, otherwise you'll probably end up spending £400 and still have the same issue, I would also suggest a Passat forum for help, someone on one of those may be able to help, but as I said a Superb is rare, a 2.8 Superb is almost unheard of.
