98 Felicia pick-up 1.3 i high idle

Featured Replies

The idle on my pick-up has gone right up after the downpipe manifold was changed due to the flange on the old one falling to bits.

I am assuming its probally the lambda sensor,as the garage had huge problems removing it,and had to heat it up to get it out.

They also had to re tap one of the manifold downpipe bolts as it snapped when separating the downpipe form the manifold,so i assume the whole exhaust manifold came off aswell,as i think they put on a new manifold gasket,so maybe thats leaking??

Also it seems like its holding back now,any thoughts anyone???

it's unlikely to be a leak at the exhaust manifold, it would make a lot of noise if it had a leak there..

high idling is more likely to be a leak at the intake manifold or throttle body or one of it's associated vacuum ports. also the first thing to try is resetting the throttle body alignment using vag-com or similar
