Oil

Featured Replies

I've searched the site for "Long life oil" and "oil" and got no results for either.

I want a one litre bottle of oil to top-up my 1.9 TDI 105 hp BJB engine on variable service which I think has repsol in it..

So after looking in six different supermarkets and four garages I cannot find any 507 oil.

Has 507 stopped? Is it 505 now ?

This afternoons supermarket had at least 86 different oils--I lost count- from at least 10 different firms --I lost count again and not one was 507.

I am puzzled. Do I keep looking or stick 505 or 505-1 in.

Go to the dealer, I got a litre bottle in a fancy zip up bag with some velcro on the back, which included some dipstick wipes, gloves, cardboard funnels, and it was a tenner. Not the cheapest granted, but it was the right stuff.

Go to ASDA and get Mobil#1 "esp" 5W-30 full synthetic long life oil to VAG specs 504 ( petrol) and 507 (diesel ) . Should be about £8 to £9 for 1 liter or £32 for 5 liters.. Check specs are on container label .

What a cretin !! Never thought of going to the dealer.

One of the oils I saw was €86 for 4 litres. So I thought Ah-Ah that must be it. Nope. I just don't get it. Literally.

507 is still what I look for is it ? Or 507-6 or something. Thanks

For variable service you need VW spec 507.00 for diesel and 504.00 for petrol.
