Why buy the Columbus?

Featured Replies

Hi.

I'm planning to buy a new Skoda Superb and I have been looking at the Columbus and the Bolero system. Is there a full spec list over these two systems somewhere?

From what I have understood Columbus have satnav and dvd player. Is there any other reasons why I should buy the Columbus instead of a Bolero (in addition to my TomTom?). Do the backing sensor or/and park assist come up in both systems? Any major selling points for the Columbus?

So far I cant justify the price, but since I like gadgets I would really like to have the Columbus, just need some selling points for the wife ;-)

The Columbus is a great (although a little temperamental at times) piece of kit. Storing the music on the hard drive is great, also the navigation function works very well.OK the aftermarket sat navs are full of features at a much smaller cost but the overall package takes a bit of beating. The dvd player is also handy if you have to kill a bit of time e.g. waiting in the queue at a ferry terminal etc...

You tell the wife if she won't let you have one you will withdraw the services of Sir Percy Peckalot, and that every Colombus can have a soap opera mod fitted so she can watch Meet The Morten's on the move. emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif
