Octy 2 prefacelift steering box

Featured Replies

HI Guys.

I have a Octy II (prefacelift) with a damaged steering box. Actually it is the torque sensor that has failed but they say you have to change the whole steering box.

I was wondering whether anybody has any idea whether the facelift steering box can be fitted onto the prefacelift version.

Here is why?

The facelift version has the steering angle sensor built into the steering box and if we can fix that box into this car we can fix a paddle shift steering wheel with the relevant steering module onto the car. All other trails we did to get a paddle shift wheel to work on the old Octy II was negetive. Since I am anyway changing the box and I already have the new Octy II paddle shift steering and steering module I was wondering whether it could be possible to connect the new steering box and get the paddle shifts to work. Will I need any extra wiring?

Has anybody tried this before?

Any help would be grt

Thx a lot
