Hi All,

Bought the new Octavia 1.6 TDI CR last Feb, very pleased with it. However, the book does not list oil specifications for the 1.6 Diesel :no: .

I'm trying to get my head around the notion of all the VW type oils and the idea of fixed / flexible service interval.

Can anybody tell me what oil type is recommended for this car? I would ideally like to run the flexible service interval and is that a different oil type from the fixed interval?

I'm pretty sure that as the 1.6CR has a DPF you need the 507 spec oil whether you have fixed or variable service
