Hatch Remote Opening

Featured Replies

Only just found out about the remote hatch opening method for an FL. Has happened on occasion but I now know why. Thanks to this forum. The handbook does not distinguish between unlocking and opening.

I suppose the automatic re-locking will not occur if the hatch is ajar. But what is the point? Not as if the hatch then rises under strut pressure when you've got your hands full.

It is so you can just unlock the boot if you are in a dodgy area and don't want someone to get in your car whilst you are busy at the back  Someone posted on here a couple of days ago about a mod that will open boot fully when unlocked<beaten to it! :giggle:>

Why can't Skoda farm out the writing of the Manual to someone in the UK for the benefit of the english speaking world? The Manual is very badly written in places, nothing has changed since I had my Fabia Vrs a few years back. It's probably easily the worst feature of Skoda's and it could so easily be addressed.

Ref the hatch - press the centre button on the key fob and it will unlock the tailgate. Hold the button down for a little longer and the tailgate will pop open. Shut the tailgate down after you have done what you want and it automatically re-locks and resets the alarm.

Hope this helps.

Ideally after you are done you will still have the keys in your hand and not in the boot.
