Turbo gone, £80 Diagnosis fee, But under Warranty?!

Featured Replies

Hello all..

My Turbo on my Fabia seemed to give up the ghost on Friday, Skoda Assist/RAC came out to it with the guy saying that, Yes it was the Turbo that was knackered who then got me to my Local dealers.

Luckily it's just within my 12 month Warranty (Runs out this wednesday), Yet the dealer is asking for £80 as a "diagnosis fee" to look at it. Has anyone heard of this fee?? I just assumed that as the car is under warranty I wouldn't be paying anything. :wonder:

Any advice before I call them back tomorrow would be good!

Cheers!

James

I would have thought if the warranty covers parts and labour the diagnostics would be included, but I don't have any experience of warranty. I'd query it and see how far you can get.

Extended warranty is a joke

Wouldnt suprise me at all if its not included! Read the smallprint and once you add up the excluded items there aint much of a car left

Cheers for the replies,

It's a "Skoda Approved Used Car Warranty" came free for 12 months when I got the car. I've read the booklet from cover to cover, and there's no mention about paying anything towards diagnosis. :S

In fact there's nothing about having to pay anything towards it full stop, Just the usual things that ain't covered like body panels and paint work etc etc

Going to be a fun phone call with the dealer tomorrow I think!

James
