Anybody got 1.8TSI DSG, if so, what MPG & service int?

Featured Replies

Hi any 1.8 TSI DSG Owners

I have a 2 litre diesel SEAT (140 hp) DSG and friend has FL TSI VRS but it only does 25-30 mpg round town and 40 MPG on the Motorway.

Is the 1.8 TSI DSG close the the diesel MPG ie 45-50 MPG and the mileage between services aaround 20K like the diesels?

Interested if any of you have experience of this?

4 to 5 month wait for it is a long time but these cars are clearly the best in class for quaity and value.

Thoughts / experience?

lol

Hovering around 38 mpg over the last 3500 miles, daily commute including 33% of it through Blackwall Tunnel, via embankent all the way to West London. Mileage between services in variable servicing mode depends on driving conditions and mileage, but following my experience with earlier 1.8T, 20k is not out of the question.

Thanks very much for the info. I imagine the TSI VRS is doing low 30s round town, I used it to go to Canary Wharf a couple of weeks ago, the Motorway section down from Worcester I was doing almost 40 mpg so it averaged around 37 MPG overall but that is too low to use as a company car ie too frequent fill ups etc. Filling up the VRS and it only showing 300 mile range sometimes is scary but have had it up to 500 miles. I think the 1.8TSI with DSG and its 15% better fuel consumption but still great acceleration sounds the best mix.

Thanks again for the info

Hi any 1.8 TSI DSG Owners

Hi - I've got a new 1.8TSI DSG.estate and am keeping a very careful check on consumption.

Checking fuel consumption by brimming tank shows 36.8mpg over my first 3671 miles. I drive with economy in mind and up to the speed limit. On long journeys it has indicated about 41mpg. Not much town driving but a good mixture of everything else in the above figures. Using regular 95 octane fuel.

Very impressive, apologies for using non metric/ SI units. 5.5 litres per 100 km is awesome. Best we get out of the TSI VRS in about 6.8 litres per 100 Km on a Motorway at about 110-120 kph.

I imagine Skoda will use they will use the 1.4 TSI and 1.2 TSI with high pressure turbos ie 100 Kw to 135 Kw and it will get even better but the 1.8 TSI with 7 speed DSG seems a very good balance of economy and performance!

Ordered a 1.8T DSG L&K on the weekend!!!!!

As VAT offer still on ordered the blue tooth steering wheel with the paddle shift, VRs boot spoiler, black and spare wheel (not very exiting but might be useful).

Hope might get 600 mile range on a tank.

Compared to what one gets for a company car allowance in the Audi, BMW, Merc, VW range it is a no brainer if you are not a badge snob and know your cars!

Now have the 150 day wait.

Dealer said if one orders after September then would have to pay the 2.5% more VAT!!

6.5/100km = 1.43 gallons to do 63 miles = 63/1.43mpg = 44 mpg approx

Which is about what the books say roughly combined figure plus a bit towards the extra urban figure, hope to get 50 mpg cruising.
