rear calipers

Featured Replies

are the rear calipers the same on the vrs hatch and a normal octy?

Thanks.

No, the normal octavia caliper fits over a solid 232mm diameter disc, the vRS caliper fits over a vented 256mm disc. The vRS rear calipers are quite a popular mod for bigger rear brakes.

I think they are, except for a lick of green paint.

I have held both calipers in my hand and they are definately different. The non vRS one is made by ATE, the vRS is made by Lucas IIRC.

Definately not. As other have said the vRS has big vented discs on the rear, so the calipers are a totally different design.

Quick way to tell is if the calipers have fins on the outer body. If they do, then they are for non-vented discs. If they have a smooth exterior, then they are for vented discs, like on the vRS.

I bought my new caliper from these guys, and the catalogue is packed with info: http://www.brakesint.co.uk/
