T-Cut Scratch Remover?

Featured Replies

I've just got my car back from the bodyworkers - some fool reversed into my car a week or so ago.

The car is looking great, you honestly cannot see the work they have done.

They als gave my car a good wash and that has thrown up a few minor issues I'd like to sort out.

There are a couple of minor stone chips which I think with correct application of the official paint touch-up I should be able to fix.

There is a mark on one of my doors that looks like somebody has opened their door onto mine.

It doesn't appear to have dented the door, it's like a surface mark - maybe made by rubber?

Anyway, somebody said to me that T-Cut scratch remover would be a good option - that combined with some elbow greese and I should be able to buff out the mark.

Anyone used this stuff?

Did it do the job?

This is on a Black Magic Octy vRS by the way - in case it matters.

t cut is pretty good yeah but you can also get them out with a good polish try the autoglym deep shine its says it masks swirl marks and sctatches and don't forget to use a sealent to protect all the hard graft you've just done. i'm about to go to halfords to get some as ive been looking at this sort of stuff most of the day and decided to go for the autoglym products.

Without seeing the defects it sounds like any polish will remove the 'rubber' mark you have but watch out for T-Cut it's strong stuff and as your motor is Black Magic it may well put some marks back into the paintwork that will be easily visible on black..................... :S

Use Meguiars Scratch X instead. As baker says..T Cut is too harsh

Doesn't T-Cut never break down as well? Their was a decent thread on detailing world about it some time ago.

Ain't there a Metallic T-Cut, not as strong IIRC. I always would try this first before the stronger red bottle.

I've used metallic t-cut on marks much like your talking about.

A piece of polystyrene / foam packaging flew out of someones bins one windy day and whacked into the car with enough force to mark/scuff the bumper and wing.

It hadn't actually damaged the paint but left a surface mark that looked like a large scuff from the impact friction. T-cut totally removed it, washing and wax wouldn't have touched it.

A clay bar would have got it off but it's have been a waste of a bar and taken much longer.

My cars Magic black, I was quite careful but it seems you'd have to use it really quite aggressively to do any damage. At least, with the metallic specific version.
