I think i may be going over to the dark side.. :S

I've been looking at this car and really like it. Good spec too. Has anyone driven it and if so how does it compare to the vRS?

I've never been a fan of Italian reliability(usually very bad).Have they improved at all?

It's smoother, more comfortable, more powerful, better on fuel, handles better and doesn't have an eastern block dashboard. Nothing dark about that....

I have had several fiats and the reliability has been fine, I also have a friend who has had several alfas and his current 159 3.2 Q4 has been brilliant. I think you will find that in terms of perceived reliability they are no better or worse that most of the VAG range.

+1.

Anecdotal I know, but most people I know with Alfas/Fiats have less trouble than the people I know with VWs/Skodas (certainly my Fiat's has been less trouble than my Octavia so far). You can get a lemon from any of 'em...

Thats a gorgeous car, buy it whatever happens. It's an Alfa, come on! Get a V6 though screw a diesel. We ain't called petrol heads for nuffin

+2 bought my fiat new, now 99,000 miles, original turbo/clutch/gearbox ect, and less problems than my fabia vRS......

may be different with alfas, the mito kept blowing up this winter when it got below -8 outside, and its based on the grande punto like mine, but no grande puntos blew up....

know what it was? the water drain pipe from the windscreen finished directly above the alternator on the mito, and soaked it with water, which then froze, and when started (with a seized alternator) would burn then snap the drive belts! lol..... thats alfa for you ;)

loveley car though... go on , buy it ;) you know you want to, I would never go for the eurobox focus type things when alfas like that are available!

I've had a good look round the Giulietta and if it goes half as well as it looks, then

I could be tempted........

Are they doing the V6 in the Guileta or going for a new Turbo engine?

Get an Alfa nothing gets more ooooohs than saying you have an Alfa B)

**Or any Italian car other than a Fiat

They have to, otherwise I'm not playin.

I have only had one Alpha but loved it :)

Looks like a nice car, but rear visibility looks rather limited....

But who needs to look behind when you going so fast in forward :)

Looks a lovely car but I would go for the little 1.4 Multiair: got some cracking reviews.

If any of you guys (and girls!) want to drive one you can pop along and drive one on the 31st. Assuming Alfa deliver the new cars on time!

You can drive the new Alfa and the new Fabia vRS if you like.
