Can you name MW radio stations?

Featured Replies

Just picked up my Yeti last week and am still in the discovery stage. I have the Bolero radio and despite an initial loose aerial connection all seems well. For FM radio stations the station is identified on the screen. For MW however only the number of the station comes up ie for Radio 5 it is tuned in to 693, Radio 4 for cricket is 603. This looks a bit ugly on an otherwise neat and tidy screen. Is there a way of changing the frequency number to the name of the station?

Don't think so. The FM radio stations are transmitted with additional data, name and traffic info being the most obvious on the Bolero. The AM stations just transmit the sound but no data.

What Terfyn says is correct.

Fair enough. It would have been a nice touch if you could overwrite the station saved in the memory, a bit like renaming a file on your computer. It would just neaten the screen. Ah well, thanks for the replies
