Hi

My previous octavia had the same problem and was the 2.0 tdi bkd engine. The skoda dealer advised me this was a known problem. They advised I would have to replace the starter motor at which point I decided I could live with the issue.

Presume yours is out of warranty mate?

thanks for your reply, yeah out of warranty its a 2005 dont wanna fork out for a starter motor not sure if i should just try a temp sensor first

anyone else had anything similar

mines also does this, but ive been to tight to try replacing the battery! one thing ive been meaning to try is while its warm is hooking it up with jumpleads to swmbo's car. if it starts ok, then its battery, it not its the starter!
