Having traded my Octavia Scout for an 09 Superb 4x4 170, I can now direct my attention to my wife's Fabia vRS...and I'm amazed to learn that

a replacement flat rear wiper blade costs £17.99 in Halfords.

So where do you folks get your Skoda consumables....surely not from the main dealer? Where IS the best place for replacement blades etc...?

I've just purchased rubber mats for the Superb...once again in Halfords...£29.99 (Their own brand) I won't make that mistake again!!!

Kidding Ebay is always the cheapest I have found!

They're less than a tenner from the dealers TBH. Personally, I go to TPS because there's a branch near me - it's so much cheaper that I get so much there that they guy on the counter knows me and my car by sight! FWIW, a complete set of OEM wipers costs about the same from TPS as what Hellfrauds want for the rear one! Only problems is that they're not really set up for retail, so AFAIK they only deliver to garages...

Tesco flat blades are about £5 and worked fine for over 2 years on my Pug 306

I did a guide for converting the Tesco's ones to RHD alignment somewhere on here! I've gone back to OEM 'cos I couldn't ever stop flat blades (even Bosch ones) missing bits of the screen near the edges. But other people swear by them, so it may be just that I wasn't good enough at fettling them. If you go down that route, get a 20" and a 21" (they don't do 19" IIRC)

My last Bosch pair were £16.15 from"Mill Auto Spares' my local motor factor.

Dont write off dealer prices, Its always worth ringing and asking.

My previous Fabia vRS needed a bulb changing, I went to local dealer , it was far cheaper than Halfrauds, & they fitted free withing 2 mins.

I fitted new front wipers because the Drivers side was rubbish, I then used the passenger blade to replace the rear. Just had to trim it down to size Perfect job done.

mine (when i had my vrs) was £4 from the dealer and it takes seconds to fit much easier than the fronts.

On top of trade card discount at Halfords you can also get Quidco cashback if you enter your card details on the Quidco site.

I find eurocarparts website has reasonable prices and includes delivery - often cheaper all in than Halfords trade card prices.

Bulbs with Halfords trade card prices are unbeatable IMO (except for perhaps the +50% etc where Ebay may be better).

Halfords can have the odd good bargain, I picked up some Cannon mats for £10 which once had an RRP of £50.
