Just wondering where is the best place to get a Columbus of known history. I know they come up on ebay, but where could I get a new or refurbished one from for a reasonablew price.

The idea is to fit it to my new scout, but new price from factory order of £1580 is just to much (and you loose the autochanger). Was thinking if a new one was circa £900 I could sale the autochanger and the bolero for maye £250 - £350 and that would make the sat nav £650 ish....

All thoughts welcome.

There is no separate autochanger with the bolero - it takes 6 CDs straight in the front slot (and has an SD card slot making CDs far less attractive anyway). You'd likely get more like £150-200 for it at a guess second hand.

Personally, I'd stick with the bolero and get a decent Garmin/TomTom - the Columbus just doesn't represent decent value for money IMHO.

I have just invested in a skoda/vw rns-510 columbus.... It is an amazing bit of kit, I absolutley love it and so does anyone that gets in my octavia.

I bought mine off ebay I haggled it down to £450 inc postage. This is from a gentleman in Lithuania, but please do not be put off by that. I received it within 3 days it was really well packaged and the communication off him was fantastic, easily the best service I have received on ebay. The device came with all connections and 2010 UK/European maps installed within it, pristine condition with no imperfections. It is so SO much better than the MFD2 which my mate has.
