Yep I had the same after using the air con with all that heat we had, I'm guessing it's coz it hasn't been switched on since last summer.

Yes its bacteria in the system , you should always leave it on for 20 mins a month!

Although my CC has never smelt bad I got one of those anti-bacterial bomb things, you leave it in the back of the car with the air-con on fully cold and re-circulating and all the windows shut. Ten minutes later open it up and give it an airing for half an hour or so. That should get rid of any bacteria.

And as the others have said make sure you do use the air-con occasionally.

Try and find some sort of antibac aerosol (a fine mist one), put the air con on full on recirc, leave a window open an inch, spray it all in and leave the aircon running

Its a filter under the plastic panels where the windscreen wipers are, on the passenger side. It's a grey pleated thing. If it's covered in **** then that's probably the problem :thumbup:

change the pollen fillter and a anti bacterial spray should do it some of them smell very nice
