Hi Guys...yes im a Newbie with a problem!

Hi guys im a newbie who has a problem and i heard this is the site to sort it :)

I recently bought a 2002 Fabia 1.4 8V Comfort, while i was driving the brake fault warning light came on and the bleeper sounded, so i pulled over got out the manual and it stated that when the light comes on there was a brake fault (note not the brake fluid light) and the bleeper should sound 3 times. Thats where the problem starts, the bleeper goes constantly then stops for about 5sec then carries on bleeeping.

I have replaced the front pads and discs thinking thats where the sensor would be located but it isnt, the new pads came with a sensor lead but obviously there for a different model.

Im guessing that the rear shoes wont have a sensor then either.

So can anyone tell me where the sensor is for this fault light and what has occured to set it off...is it a DIY fix or have i got to spend vast amounts of money at a skoda dealers :(

Thanks alot in advance for your time and any help or advice given :)

Hi and welcome aboard.

That does sound like a job for a garage.

It sounds like the warning you get if you apply the handbrake when driving. Perhaps a faulty sensor?

Where are you based? England is a little vague :giggle:

Have a look to see if you have a member locally with VAG-COM who can run a scan for you.

Hi guys im back with good news i found out what the problem was with my fabia...the brake light that was constantly on and repeatedly sounding the siren was caused by the hand brake switch falling off....lmao well atleast it didnt cost me anything to fix.

Thanks alot for your support guys :)
