On my W reg Fabia 1.4 16v...

For last year I've had the usual engine hunting, so cleaned throttle body etc which has helped.

Spurious warning lights which have gone away as soon as they came.

But in last couple days the engine has cut out for a second or two, the red oil can warning light comes on and the rev counter stops working.

stopping the car and checking oil levels ok.

Once its restarted, no warning light and rev counter and engine work fine at all speeds.

Has happened about 5 times over last few days.

Was just going to do oil change and change the coolant sensor anyway, but this seems a bit more serious.

Any exeprienced this before?

fuel pump relay most likely failing.. Can't remember if it's around £13 or £31

When it's on it's way out it cuts the fuel pump which cuts the engine. Car acts as if the keys been turned back a click.

I had it on my last car with the same engine.. I was doing 60, not nice.

Throws up all kinds of spurious errors on the ECU when you do a scan as no way of the computer saying the fuel pump relays failing.

It will throw up all kinds of fuel system related errors though, and injector failure error codes as there's no fuel pumping. but it all just means the pump relays a little iffy.
